![]() ![]() Similar to the first book, the romance was lacking. Max was brought into the story a little more in this book, as was Libby, but I still wish we could see more of them. These are two essential characters that are not too involved with the games so are kinda pushed aside in both books. I love that we got to see a little bit more of Avery’s best friend, Max, and her sister, Libby. Because so many questions were answered and mysteries were solved, it’s hard to see where Barnes might take the next book in the series, but I’m sure she has something good up her sleeve. But, there still were some shocking moments. I will admit most of the revelations weren’t too shocking, it was still interesting how it all came about. Just when you think you have this book figured out, Barnes throws another curveball at you. Hawthorne, we also get many more answers in this book than in the last. While we still get to enjoy a good puzzle laid out by dear Mr. ![]() I was on pins and needles the whole book wanting to know what was going to happen next. Twisty, intriguing, surprising until the end. ![]()
